What It Takes to Be Named a Top Dentist in Pittsburgh Posted on November 11, 2014

Are You a Top Dentist in Pittsburgh?

Dr. Semashko has been named a 2011 and 2012 Top Dentist in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh Magazine under the Endodontist Specialty.

Pittsburgh Top Dentist

The Top Dentist designation is determined by dentists and specialists, who are asked a series of questions about their fellow dentists. Their answers are sorted and stored in a database, and this input is used to create the Top Dentist list for the greater Pittsburgh area.

When considering this list, dentists are asked to consider several points.

  • Years of Experience. Of course, experience counts. Dr. Semashko started his dental career in 1985 as a civilian dentist for the military, and at the recommendation of several experienced colleagues, began advanced training to become an endodontist. He received his endodontic certification in 1992, and has been treating patients in that specialty for more than 20 years.
  • Patient Manner. When Dr. Semashko first joined a large endodontic practice, he realized that he wanted to concentrate on putting his patients first. He established Endodontics in Cranberry so that he could treat each patient the way that he wanted to: kindly, with all the emphasis put on the patient so that they can be treated while comfortable. His patients’ testimonials say it best: “Dr. Semashko is great! I had a root canal and didn’t have any pain at all, plus my tooth is feeling so much better.”
  • Continuing Education. By attending 40 to 60 hours of continuing education courses both in the Pittsburgh area and nationwide, Dr. Semashko keeps up to date on all research, techniques, and findings in the endodontic field.
  • New Technologies. Dr. Semashko has invested in new technology including surgical operating microscopes, digital X-rays, electronic apex indicators, electric hand pieces, and ultrasonic instruments. Each piece of equipment is used to make your endodontic treatment safe, fast, and comfortable.

Don’t live with tooth pain any longer! If you are in need of root canal therapy, root canal re-treatment, endodontic surgery, or treatment for traumatic dental injuries, give Dr. Semashko’s office a call. He treats patients in the Cranberry, Wexford, Mars, North Hills, and greater Pittsburgh area.
