Dr Gregory Semashko was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated from St. Francis Prep High School. After graduating from F.D.U with a degree in biology and minor in American history and math, he attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry. He received his D.D.S in 1985.
Dr. Semashko was stationed at Fort Benning, GA as a civilian contract dentist. He was 1 of 2 dentists in charge of treating the 3rd Ranger Training Brigade. While there, Doctors Bellizzi & Loushine encouraged him to go into advanced training for endodontics. He received the commander’s award for public service.
Dr. Semashko received his certificate in endodontics from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1992. Upon completion of his studies, he moved to Pittsburgh.
For his first two years in Pittsburgh, Dr Semashko worked for a large group endodontic practice. While there, he discovered this did not match the philosophy of how he wished to treat patients.
This lead to the establishment of Endodontics in Cranberry, Inc. in 1994. Dr. Semashko treats you as an individual, and realizes everybody is different. You are not treated as on a conveyor belt with multiple patients at the same time as your appointment.
In 2011, in recognition of this, he was awarded as one of the top dentists in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh Magazine.
