MOM-N-PA, (Mission of Mercy), held an event on June 7th and June 8th at Mohegan Sun Arena near Wilkes-Barre offering dental services such as free teeth cleanings and fillings to thousands of patients.
MOM-N-PA is an annual two-day, large-scale dental clinic that is provided to underserved Pennsylvanians. A variety of dental treatments are provided to patients at no cost. Mission of Mercy is an organization dedicated to providing as many as individuals as they can with the oral care they need.
With the generous donations from a variety of sponsors and their dedicated host of volunteers, MOM-N-PA can provide free dental care to thousands of individuals every year. Care is provided on a first-come, first served basis with no appointments needed and is provided for individuals who don’t have access to or cannot afford dental insurance.

Dr. Gregory Shemashko participated in the MOM-N-PA event in June. Dr. Shemashko said over the course of the two-day event 1,700 patients were seen for various dental needs.
“The endodontic section did about 120 root canals. In general, all the patients appreciated the treatment they received and were grateful we did this event. After completing a patient’s treatment, they could not stop shaking hands and thanking us for taking care of their dental needs,” said Dr. Gregory Shemashko.
