On July 26th and 27th Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh (MOMPGH) will hold their annual event at PPG Paints Arena, providing free dental treatments such as fillings and dental cleanings to hundreds of patients. Dr. Gregory Shemashko will be participating in the event, offering his services and expertise throughout the two-day event.
MOMPGH, a signature program of a Call to Care Inc., is an annual two-day dental clinic that provides essential dental services to under-served people living in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. A wide range of dental services is provided by local dental professionals, who are assisted by a host of volunteers.
With a dedicated team of clinical and non-clinical volunteers, MOMPGH can provide dental services to hundreds of patients every year. Care for this clinic is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments are needed.
Treatments provided will include:
Patients will also be connected with agencies that are available for further dental treatment within the community and will also be provided with education on the importance of oral health.
Dr. Shemashko has participated in this event for the last few years, providing his expertise in endodontics to hundreds of patients each year, helping to promote good oral health within the community. He said this event is the only of its kind in Pittsburgh and that they have been holding this event for the past couple of years.
Dr. Shemashko said the MOMPGH offers the same services as the MOM-n-PA (Mission of Mercy) event that travels throughout Pennsylvania providing free dental services.
“They decided there was a need for it, so the University of Pittsburgh decided to get sponsors and do it yearly, instead of waiting for the traveling one (MOM-n-PA) to come around,” said Dr. Shemashko.
The event will be held Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 28th at PPG Paints Arena. Doors open at 6 am each day, and the clinic will open at 7 am and close around 4 pm.
